SAFETY/SECURITY POLICY
SONAL ENERGY GLOBAL (NIGERIA) LIMITED has it as a policy and function to manage Safety Affairs as an integral part of overall HSE Programs and indeed part the Company’s business so as to minimize the number of security related incidents for all staff, clients and third part personnel involved in her operations.
In order to ensure the implementation of this policy, the company shall engage adequate number of trained resource personnel who should organize, co-ordinate and implement all the company’s unmanned security operations, the services of a licensed and professional security shall be secured on retainer to act as support to the company’s security system. The services of armed security agencies, such as the Nigerian Police and Mobile Police Force, shall be sought in very rare circumstances such as riots and armed attacks.
At Project locations, local security men shall be used to protect the Company’s equipment and facilities in a bid to forge good report between the Company and her Host Community. Owing to reported cases of threats, piracy, armed robbery and Community mob actions/assaults, site security may be beefed up using trained/armed security men to avert any danger and for enhanced security emergencies management.
Essential work gadgets, such as walkie-talkie, uniforms, batons, etc. shall be provided to enhance security services.
Security items shall form part of site HSE briefing and toolbox meeting/talk and incidents must be reviewed in site/management HSE meetings. Security training/drills shall be conducted for increased security awareness.
All employees will be provided with SONAL ENERGY GLOBAL (NIGERIA) LIMITED’s identity card. The employees will be regularly briefed of the current security situations associated with their area of operations. This is to make them reduce their exposure to risky area and comply with company’s security procedures.
Journey management will be put in place and strictly adhered to at all times. All unauthorized journeys will be discouraged.
